Brockfield House, Northamptonshire
This project was to provide an additional 14 rooms at Brockfield House which provides care for residents with various levels of dementia. rla designed and managed the construction of a new 14 bedroom extension along with an additional lift to the care home.
The site was sensitive due to its location in Stanwick village and its proximity to a Grade II listed 17th Century cottage. It was important that the extension blended into its surroundings and did not look like a new addition to the original building. The design reflects this. In order to further help the building to sit as one we used Clipsham (buff coloured limestone with blue grey beds) coursed to match the existing main house (facing onto Villa Lane).
The project has been a great success and we are proud of our involvement. The new spaces are full of natural light and integrate well with the existing house.
